One Pupil Misses PLE at Swaria Centre in Soroti.

0

One pupil has missed this year’s Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) at Swaria Primary School Examination Centre in Soroti City, where candidates from three schools were registered to sit their final papers. According to examination records, a total of 156 candidates had been registered to sit for the exams at the Swaria Centre. However, only 155 pupils turned up on the first day after one boy from Swaria Primary School failed to appear. The head teacher of Swaria Primary School, Mr. Stanley Elwongu, confirmed that the centre hosts candidates from Swaria Primary School, Teso City Primary School, and Trinity Junior School. “We tried to trace the missing candidate, but our efforts were unsuccessful,” Elwongu said, adding that such incidents highlight the need for parents to be more involved in their children’s academic journey. Elwongu further appealed to parents to ensure close supervision and consistent support for learners, especially during examination periods, to prevent similar occurrences in the future. The Primary Leaving Examinations mark the end of the seven-year primary education cycle and determine candidates’ placement in secondary schools.
