Pallisa Man Arrested Over Alleged Bestiality Incident Involving Cow

By Alfred Opio

Police in Pallisa District are investigating a shocking case of alleged bestiality after a 25-year-old man was reportedly caught engaging in sexual intercourse with a cow, an incident that has sparked outrage among residents.

The suspect, identified only as Onini, a resident of Aputon 2 Village in Kaboloi Parish, Pallisa Sub-county, is accused of defiling a cow belonging to a local farmer.

According to eyewitness accounts, the incident was discovered when a young boy from the livestock owner’s family went to water three cattle at a nearby grazing area. Upon arrival, the boy allegedly found the suspect inside a makeshift shelter with one of the cows in what appeared to be a compromising situation.

The boy raised an alarm, attracting residents to the scene. Community members reportedly confronted the suspect and assaulted him before he was rescued from the mob.

One of the residents, James Olidu, claimed that upon inspection, the animal showed signs suggesting it had been violated. He further alleged that the suspect had physical evidence linking him to the act.

Olidu added that this was not the first time the suspect had been suspected of similar behavior, although no formal complaints had previously been filed.

The cow’s owner, John Obute, expressed anger and disappointment, demanding compensation for the animal. He argued that the incident had devalued the cow and posed potential health risks.

“He should compensate me by buying another cow,” Obute said, insisting that justice be served.

Residents have strongly condemned the alleged act, describing it as immoral, unacceptable, and harmful to community values. Some also raised concerns about possible public health risks related to the consumption of animal products from abused livestock.

Under Ugandan law, bestiality is a criminal offense punishable by imprisonment. Authorities say the suspect is likely to face charges once investigations are complete.

Police have yet to release an official statement, but inquiries into the matter are ongoing.

Community leaders have urged the public to remain calm and allow law enforcement agencies to handle the case through proper legal channels.
